The rotational molding process is a high-temperature and low-pressure plastic molding process that uses heat and biaxial rotation (that is, angular rotation on two axes) to manufacture a hollow one-piece part.

Critics of the process point out its longer cycle time – usually only one or two cycles per hour, and other processes such as injection molding can be completed within a few seconds, so usually only once or two per hour Cycles.

This method does have obvious advantages. Rotational molding is much easier to manufacture large hollow parts (such as fuel tanks) than any other method. Rotating dies are much cheaper than other types of dies. Very little material is wasted using this process, and the excess material can usually be reused, making it very economically and environmentally feasible.
